My buddies over at Whoa Whoa Records are blazing through the cassettes this summer. For their sixth release, it’s San Fran garage rockers Pamela that are getting the tape deck treatment.
An easy winner for creepiest album cover of the year (that’s it above), Pamela Is Hungover is slated to also be one of my favorites. Even though I haven’t received the tape yet — it’s up for pre-order over at the label’s store — a quick perusing of the band’s bandcamp page shows how explosive and exciting the group is. Each song, including the stellar sample “Liedown” below, clocks in at just about two minutes and is jammed packed with destructive power. I can’t wait to slap this tape in my Walkman and stalk the mean Mormon streets of Salt Lake City.
